An employee who worked for a public radio station probably had no idea that his attacks on Rep. Chris Gibson, who also happens to be a former Army colonel with four combat tours under his belt, would end with a firm boot to his backside and a trip to the unemployment office. A staffer at the WIOX radio station in New York sent some scathing email messages telling Gibson to “find a job like the rest of us and not live off the taxpayers’ money as he has done his whole life.” No doubt this guys is probably begging for a do-over. Here’s a statement released by the station regarding their decision to fire the employee. From BizPacReview:

Here’s a statement released by the station regarding their decision to fire the employee. From BizPacReview:
The Free Beacon reported on the emails, sent by a staffer at WIOX radio, last week. Its parent radio station, Binghamton-based WSKG, said on Saturday that the employee responsible for the emails has been fired. On October 1st, 2014, WSKG became aware through media reports of an email sent to the Gibson Campaign from a WIOX email address containing a personal attack. On October 2nd, immediately upon identification, the individual suspected of writing the email was suspended, pending a complete investigation. We have apologized to Congressman Gibson through his office and the responsible party will be terminated. Although free dialogue and lively debate is an important part of our political culture, these statements clearly went beyond what is acceptable in the political arena and crossed over into the personal. For the attacks leveled against Congressman Gibson and his honorable service to the country, we again apologize. The radio station definitely made the right call in handing this guy his pink slip. Service men and women have already taken a beating from the president and his administration who seem to enjoy taking shots at them every opportunity they get, such as attempting to cut their pay raises or sending them layoff notices while their on tour in the Middle East. They definitely do not deserve to be treated poorly by individual’s like this staffer. The men and women who serve in the military deserve our utmost respect, as they continue to lay down their lives to keep us safe and preserve our freedoms.
